Teeth Whitening

Are you unhappy with your dull smile? Do you want to remove yellow stains from your teeth? It is not uncommon for our teeth to lose their white glow as we age. Certain beverages, food, medication, and daily habits can all cause discoloration. But at SmileMore Dental, we have a solution!

KOR® teeth whitening is widely recognized as the world’s most effective teeth whitening system with no need for lights or lasers. KOR® delivers beautiful results by combining at-home whitening with a single (or two) in-office whitening visits, and provides effective solutions for even the most challenging cases that were once thought to be untreatable such as tetracycline staining, fluorosis, and dark geriatric staining.

The result of this treatment is a beautiful smile that is both eye-catching and provides you with a new burst of confidence.

Dental Bonding

When you have chipped, stained, or gapped teeth it can cause frustration or embarrassment when you smile. Dr. Yu understands the importance of feeling confident about your smile and therefore offers composite dental bonding. This cosmetic procedure uses a tooth-colored material to refresh your smile and fix any imperfections.

The bonding process involves Dr. Yu applying layers of composite material to your affected teeth. He carefully applies these layers and shapes them for an aesthetically-pleasing finish. When you are happy with the shape and look of your smile, Dr. Yu polishes your teeth to make them shine.

Dental bonding can be completed in a single visit and improves the look and function of your teeth. Bonding is simple, gentle, and successful!

Porcelain Veneers

Veneers is fast becoming one of the most popular services in Oro Valley cosmetic dentistry. Veneers are thin ceramic shells that are bonded to your teeth to hide common imperfections, including:

  • Chips
  • Gaps
  • Cracks
  • Stains
  • Misalignment
  • Old restorations

Routinely used to enhance the look of your smile, veneers are made using a strong and durable material named porcelain. Porcelain can be adjusted to meet your desired tooth shade, size, and shape. Plus, it is stain-resistant!

Porcelain veneers may require some minimal tooth preparation before they are applied. Once the teeth are ready, Dr. Yu takes an impression in order to design your new veneers. Created at our partner lab, your porcelain veneers are built to your specifications and returned to our office (you may need to wear temporary veneers during this time).

When your new veneers are ready, Dr. Yu carefully and gently places them and makes any final adjustments. When you are happy with the look, he bonds them into place for a beautiful and stable finish.

Are you one of the many people who are unhappy with their misaligned smile? Have you avoided braces due to the unsightly metal and wires? Then Dr. Yu may the ideal solution for you – Invisalign®. Forget everything you have heard about teeth straightening and uncover the new chapter of aligning technology.

Invisalign® uses a clear aligning system designed to gently move your teeth into position using a series of custom-made aligners. These aligners are created from digital impressions captured through computer 3-D technology. Using this modern technology, Dr. Yu scans your teeth and then shows you the potential smile you could achieve through Invisalign® treatment.

During the course of treatment, you switch out your aligners every two weeks and can contact our doctor with any questions. The aligners are virtually invisible and can be removed to eat your favorite foods, brush your teeth, and take a selfie.

Invisalign® can help with a number of orthodontic issues including overbites, underbites, and crossbites – as well as aligning your teeth. Get your new smile today in the most comfortable way and completely metal-free.

Tooth-Colored Fillings

One of the most common dental problems is cavities. These occur when decay attacks your tooth and compromises the structure. The good news is our restorative dental team repairs your smile using a simple dental filling. Fillings at SmileMore Dental are made of a tooth-colored composite material that blends in with your smile.

During this restorative procedure, we clean your tooth and remove any excess decay. We carefully place the tooth-colored resin and shape it to fit your bite. The composite material restores the integrity of your tooth by bonding to its natural structure and preventing the spread of decay.

Fillings can be placed in a single visit and are cared for as you would your normal teeth. As well as being aesthetically attractive the fillings are functional and long-lasting. Plus, they prevent the need for more extensive dental care.

Unfortunately, there are times where the only way to prevent further dental problems is to remove a tooth. This may be due to wisdom teeth causing crowding or a severely infected tooth compromising the health of your smile. Whatever the reason, rest assured that we view this as a last resort and always focus on saving each tooth.

When an extraction is necessary, you could not be in better hands. Dr. Yu employs modern technology and his gentle touch to safely and skillfully remove your tooth. If you are feeling fearful or anxious then we may recommend sedation to calm your nerves and eliminate apprehension.

The procedure itself is quick and simple. Our caring team methodically prep your tooth through cleaning the area and preparing the tooth. After the removal, Dr. Yu keeps the area clean and healthy. He then takes time to discuss your restorative options including dental implants or a dental bridge.

Inlays & Onlays

There may be times when decay or trauma has affected your tooth beyond the repair a filling can provide. When this happens our restorative dentist in Oro Valley can restore your smile using an inlay or onlay. These restorations are created using a tooth-colored composite material to replace the missing or diseased part of your tooth.

An inlay is used when the damage is contained to the inside of your tooth, whereas an onlay is most appropriate when the side of the tooth is damaged. Dr. Yu creates these dental restorations using CEREC® same-day technology – yes, you can enjoy a restored smile in just one visit! He begins by taking 3-D digital impressions of your tooth and then using CAD/CAM software to design the restoration. This data is then transferred to the in-house milling machine and your new inlay or onlay is created.

Dr. Yu then places the inlay or onlay and finds the ideal fit. Once the final adjustments have been made, he bonds the restoration into place. You are left with a functional and structurally sound tooth that boosts your smile!

Sleep Apnea

Millions of Americans each year are not getting a good nights’ sleep due to a common disorder named sleep apnea. You may be suffering from this disorder and not even know it! Below are three surveys, which may help identify the sleep problems you are facing.

Sleep apnea shows itself in a number of ways including through snoring, fatigue, headaches, and more. The essence of the disorder is that during your sleep, your throat closes and thus stops you breathing. This results in excessive snoring, waking up in the night, and disrupted sleep. If left untreated, sleep apnea can cause more severe health problems, both mental and physical.

Dr. Yu has the advanced training and experience to help diagnose sleep apnea. He works alongside local specialists to offer solutions such as CPAP machines, sleep appliances, and lifestyle plans.

If you suffer from any of the symptoms on our surveys, please get in touch with SmileMore Dental today. We can help you get your life back and enjoy a good night’s sleep.

CEREC® Same-Day Dentistry

Single-visit restorations are here!

Do you find goopy impressions and temporaries uncomfortable? Are you struggling to make time to see the dentist? We’ve been there and understood these frustrations, which is why Dr. Yu has gone the extra mile to find solutions to these problems. One impressive stride forward is our single-visit restorations. Our modern CEREC® technology allows us to take digital impressions (no goop), design crowns, bridges, and other restorations in-house (no temporaries), and place them the same-day (no repeat appointments).

CEREC® consists of a digital scanner that accurately takes 3-D impressions of your teeth and sends the data to our CAD/CAM software. Dr. Yu then skillfully designs your new restoration and builds it using our in-house milling machine. The result is a natural-looking dental restoration that fits into your mouth perfectly.

Dental crowns can be planned, created, and placed using CEREC® same-day technology. A crown is similar to a cap and is primarily chosen when your tooth has become damaged, decayed, or broken. The crown acts as a shell to protect your tooth and restore its function.

Our crowns are made using tooth-colored porcelain, which is strong and durable. The crown is designed in-house and placed over the affected tooth. This modern restorative solution is long-lasting and can be cared for as you would your natural teeth.

A dental bridge is an ideal option for those with a missing tooth. The bridge consists of two crowns on either side of an artificial tooth (the replacement). Constructed using CEREC® technology, this restoration is made of a strong, tooth-colored material and can be placed in one visit.

After the digital impression is taken, your bridge is designed and carefully placed into the gap left by your missing tooth. The two crowns are placed over the adjacent teeth and are used as an anchor to hold the new tooth into position. Dr. Yu makes sure the bridge is a comfortable fit and is firmly in place before bonding the crowns to your teeth.

Bridges are long-lasting and a very effective option for patients of all ages.
